Sierra View Memorial Park is currently celebrating their 80th Anniversary.

Our first interment was September 11, 1928. Sierra View Memorial Park, Marysville, California is located in the northern Sacramento Valley. Our location is rich in history and agriculture. We are 50 miles north of Sacramento, and 50 miles south of Chico, California. We have a beautiful view of the Sierra Mountain range on the east of our park.

We are proud and honored to have buried here a Civil War Veteran, Spanish-American War Veterans, Veterans killed in action, Congressmen, US Senators, Roseville Police Officer Mark White, who was killed in the line of duty, and of course, actress Leila Smith better known for her role as “Grandma Breaker” in the 1977 comedy movie “Handle with Care”, and families who greatly contributed to the growth and prosperity of our community.

Sierra View Memorial Park is one of very few cemeteries or memorial parks which have a Chinese Burner, which dates back to the early 1930’s. The burner was symbolic in the burning of personal items which were to go with the deceased in the afterlife. Our Mausoleum which was constructed in 1928 is a fine example of hand crafted details of yester-year, from the stained glass windows to the designs painted on the domed ceiling.

Sierra View Memorial Park is currently in the process of merging the historical beauty of the older areas in the park originally built in 1928, with the newer cremation gardens and columbarium’s of today, in a seamless flow.

The staff of Sierra View Memorial Park is proud of the history our park holds, and as members of the community wish to add to its history for the future. Our small community is growing, and we look forward to its growth.
